This variant, c.3106_3108del, results in the deletion of 1 amino acid(s) of the ABCC6 protein (p.Phe1036del), but otherwise preserves the integrity of the reading frame. This variant is present in population databases (rs72664230, gnomAD 0.02%). This variant has been observed in individuals with generalized arterial calcification of infancy (GACI) and/or pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PMID: 16086317, 22209248). ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 433416). Experimental studies and prediction algorithms are not available or were not evaluated, and the functional significance of this variant is currently unknown. This variant disrupts a region of the ABCC6 protein in which other variant(s) (p.Phe1036Ser) have been observed in individuals with ABCC6-related conditions (PMID: 28186352).
