The Gln228Glu variant in NEBL has not been previously reported in individuals wi th cardiomyopathy, but has been identified in 0.1% (5/4406) of African American chromosomes by the NHLBI Exome Sequencing Project (http://evs.gs.washington.edu/ EVS/; dbSNP rs143644290). Computational prediction tools and conservation analys is do not provide strong support for or against an impact to the protein. Additi onal information is needed to fully assess the clinical significance of the Gln2 28Glu variant. -
