This variant has been observed in at least one proband affected with Fabry disease (PMID:37940383;33258999). Another cDNA variant that causes the same protein consequence has been determined to be pathogenic. It is absent or not present at a significant frequency in gnomAD. In silico models agree that this variant is possibly or probably damaging. In conclusion, we classify GLA p.Trp44Cys (c.132G>C) as a pathogenic variant.
