This variant results from an in-frame CCT deletion at nucleotide positions 909 to 911. This results in the in-frame deletion of a leucine at codon 304. This alteration was observed in 1/7051 unselected female breast cancer patients and in 1/11241 female controls of Japanese ancestry (Momozawa Y et al. Nat Commun, 2018 10;9:4083). This amino acid position is poorly conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be inconclusive by in silico analysis (Choi Y et al. PLoS ONE. 2012; 7(10):e46688). Since supporting evidence is limited at this time, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. - |
