The p.R1696L variant (also known as c.5087G>T), located in coding exon 44 of the KIF1B gene, results from a G to T substitution at nucleotide position 5087. The arginine at codon 1696 is replaced by leucine, an amino acid with dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is conserved.
