Genes affected
CTRC (HGNC:2523): (chymotrypsin C) This gene encodes a member of the peptidase S1 family. The encoded protein is a serum calcium-decreasing factor that has chymotrypsin-like protease activity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed, but their full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Hereditary pancreatitis Uncertain:1
Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitterclinical testingAmbry GeneticsFeb 26, 2016The p.L10P variant (also known as c.29T>C), located in coding exon 1 of the CTRC gene, results from a T to C substitution at nucleotide position 29. The leucine at codon 10 is replaced by proline, an amino acid with similar properties. This variant was not reported in population based cohorts in the following databases: Database of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (dbSNP), NHLBI Exome Sequencing Project (ESP), and 1000 Genomes Project. In the ESP, this variant was not observed in 6503 samples (13006 alleles) with coverage at this position. This amino acid position is not well conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be deleterious by in silico analysis. Based on available evidence to date, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear. -
