The gene product was originally identified as an antigen target in Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome, an autoimmune disorder. Mutations in this gene are associated with Brugada syndrome. The p.A269S variant (also known as c.805G>T), located in coding exon 9 of the CACNB2 gene, results from a G to T substitution at nucleotide position 805. The alanine at codon 269 is replaced by serine, an amino acid with similar properties. This amino acid position is conserved. In addition, the in silico prediction for this alteration is inconclusive. Based on the available evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
