Genes affected
ITGBL1 (HGNC:6164): (integrin subunit beta like 1) This gene encodes a beta integrin-related protein that is a member of the EGF-like protein family. The encoded protein contains integrin-like cysteine-rich repeats. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]
FGF14 (HGNC:3671): (fibroblast growth factor 14) The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. A mutation in this gene is associated with autosomal dominant cerebral ataxia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

The c.1318G>C (p.E440Q) alteration is located in exon 10 (coding exon 10) of the ITGBL1 gene. This alteration results from a G to C substitution at nucleotide position 1318, causing the glutamic acid (E) at amino acid position 440 to be replaced by a glutamine (Q). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
