This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency (PMID: 26189817, 29021354). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. This variant is present in population databases (rs746738473, gnomAD 0.009%). This sequence change replaces arginine, which is basic and polar, with histidine, which is basic and polar, at codon 291 of the TRMT5 protein (p.Arg291His). -
