This protein is expressed in all major adult human tissues and localizes to late endosomal compartments and lysosomal membranes. A pseudogene of this gene also lies on chromosome 15. This sequence change replaces leucine, which is neutral and non-polar, with valine, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 468 of the SPPL2A protein (p.Leu468Val). -
