The members of this family function in the Notch signaling pathway that regulates determination of cell fate during development. Expression of this gene has been associated with a favorable outcome to chemotherapy with taxanes for ovarian carcinoma. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. The c.1283C>A (p.P428Q) alteration is located in exon 14 (coding exon 14) of the TLE3 gene. This alteration results from a C to A substitution at nucleotide position 1283, causing the proline (P) at amino acid position 428 to be replaced by a glutamine (Q). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
