The second intron contains an apparently intronless gene, C16orf3, that is transcribed in the opposite orientation. This gene is a putative tumor suppressor gene. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with GAS8-related conditions. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 542264).
