The encoded protein can also translocate to the cell membrane and bind phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdInsP3) and inositol 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate (InsP4). This alteration results from a G to T substitution at nucleotide position 106, causing the alanine (A) at amino acid position 36 to be replaced by a serine (S).
