This variant has been reported in the compound heterozygous state in two siblings with recurrent elevated liver transaminases and acute liver failure (Regateiro et al 2017. PubMed ID: 28576691). This variant is reported in 0.0058% of alleles in individuals of Latino descent in gnomAD (http://gnomad.broadinstitute.org/variant/2-15608634-C-T). Nonsense variants in NBAS are expected to be pathogenic. This variant is interpreted as pathogenic.
