This gene encodes a member of the PDE protein superfamily. Mutations in this gene are a cause of Cushing disease and adrenocortical hyperplasia. This alteration results from a C to T substitution at nucleotide position 23, causing the proline (P) at amino acid position 8 to be replaced by a leucine (L).
