This alteration results from a A to C substitution at nucleotide position 1781, causing the asparagine (N) at amino acid position 594 to be replaced by a threonine (T). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -

This sequence change replaces asparagine with threonine at codon 594 of the QARS protein (p.Asn594Thr). The asparagine residue is moderately conserved and there is a small physicochemical difference between asparagine and threonine. This variant is present in population databases (rs372524045, ExAC 0.03%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with QARS-related conditions. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 577930).
