This enzyme modifies proteins containing eukaryotic growth factor (EGF)-like domains, including the Notch receptor, thereby regulating developmental signalling. The arginine amino acid residue is found in multiple mammalian species, which suggests that this missense change does not adversely affect protein function. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with EOGT-related conditions. This variant is present in population databases (rs771925127, gnomAD 0.01%). This sequence change replaces glutamine, which is neutral and polar, with arginine, which is basic and polar, at codon 387 of the EOGT protein (p.Gln387Arg). -
