Muscarinic receptors influence many effects of acetylcholine in the central and peripheral nervous system. The muscarinic cholinergic receptor 2 is involved in mediation of bradycardia and a decrease in cardiac contractility. The c.973A>T (p.I325F) alteration is located in exon 4 (coding exon 1) of the CHRM2 gene. This alteration results from a A to T substitution at nucleotide position 973, causing the isoleucine (I) at amino acid position 325 to be replaced by a phenylalanine (F). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
