This alteration has been reported in multiple ovarian cancer patients (Kanchi KL et al. Nat Commun, 2014;5:3156; Lu C et al. Nat Commun. 2015 Dec 22;6:10086; Arvai KJ et al. Hered Cancer Clin Pract, 2019 Jul;17:19). One study detected this mutation in 0/3030 pancreatic cancer cases and 2/123136 population controls (Hu C et al. JAMA, 2018 06;319:2401-2409). This alteration is expected to result in loss of function by premature protein truncation or nonsense-mediated mRNA decay. As such, this alteration is interpreted as a disease-causing mutation. - |
