The encoded protein is one of the components of a calcium channel, composed of a tetramer of the ryanodine receptor proteins and a tetramer of FK506 binding protein 1B proteins, that supplies calcium to cardiac muscle. Mutations in this gene are associated with stress-induced polymorphic ventricular tachycardia and arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

The A2603V variant has not been published as pathogenic or been reported as benign to our knowledge. However, the A2603V variant is a conservative amino acid substitution, which is not likely to impact secondary protein structure as these residues share similar properties.
