Mutations in this gene have been associated with nonsyndromic deafness. Readthrough transcription is observed across this gene and the adjacent leucine-rich repeat containing 51 gene. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 1481162). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with LRTOMT-related conditions. This variant is present in population databases (rs747695775, gnomAD 0.02%). This sequence change replaces arginine, which is basic and polar, with glutamine, which is neutral and polar, at codon 77 of the LRTOMT protein (p.Arg77Gln). -
