Isolated anophthalmia-microphthalmia syndrome Pathogenic:1
Pathogenic, criteria provided, single submitter | in vitro | Medical Genetics Laboratory, West China Hospital, Sichuan University | - | We investigated a newborn with bilateral anophthalmia in a Chinese family. Exome sequencing revealed that compound heterozygous mutations c.287G>A (p.(Arg96His)) and c.709G>A (p.(Gly237Arg)) of the ALDH1A4 gene were presented in the affected newborn. These mutations were confirmed to be transmitted from the parents respectively. In vitro expression showed that both mutations decreased the protein production and impaired the protein tetramer formation. - |
