This sequence change replaces asparagine with serine at codon 361 of the GOT2 protein (p.Asn361Ser). The asparagine residue is moderately conserved and there is a small physicochemical difference between asparagine and serine. The frequency data for this variant in the population databases is considered unreliable, as metrics indicate poor data quality at this position in the ExAC database. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with GOT2-related conditions. Algorithms developed to predict the effect of missense changes on protein structure and function (SIFT, PolyPhen-2, Align-GVGD) all suggest that this variant is likely to be tolerated.
