Inborn genetic diseases Uncertain:1
Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitter | clinical testing | Ambry Genetics | Apr 06, 2018 | The p.Q6R variant (also known as c.17A>G), located in coding exon 1 of the GOSR2 gene, results from an A to G substitution at nucleotide position 17. The glutamine at codon 6 is replaced by arginine, an amino acid with highly similar properties. Based on data from gnomAD, the G allele has an overall frequency of approximately 0.038% (56/147100) total alleles studied. The highest observed frequency was 0.24% (55/22820) of South Asian alleles. This amino acid position is highly conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be tolerated by in silico analysis. Since supporting evidence is limited at this time, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. - |
