This sequence change replaces arginine, which is basic and polar, with serine, which is neutral and polar, at codon 22 of the MKS1 protein (p.Arg22Ser). This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with MKS1-related conditions. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 461764).
