This sequence change replaces glutamic acid with glutamine at codon 4410 of the RYR1 protein (p.Glu4410Gln). The glutamic acid residue is moderately conserved and there is a small physicochemical difference between glutamic acid and glutamine. While this variant is present in population databases (rs776964609), the frequency information is unreliable, as metrics indicate poor data quality at this position in the ExAC database. This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with RYR1-related conditions (Invitae).
