Genes affected
TSHZ2 (HGNC:13010): (teashirt zinc finger homeobox 2) This gene is a member of the teashirt C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family of transcription factors. This gene encodes a protein with five C2H2-type zinc fingers, a homeobox DNA-binding domain and a coiled-coil domain. This nuclear protein is predicted to act as a transcriptional repressor. This gene is thought to play a role in the development and progression of breast and other types of cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitterclinical testingAmbry GeneticsJan 26, 2023The c.568A>G (p.S190G) alteration is located in exon 2 (coding exon 2) of the TSHZ2 gene. This alteration results from a A to G substitution at nucleotide position 568, causing the serine (S) at amino acid position 190 to be replaced by a glycine (G). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
