The protein belongs to the S12P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in the cytoplasm. The protein shares significant amino acid similarity with S. cerevisiae ribosomal protein S28. To our knowledge, no occurrence of c.58C>G in individuals affected with Brachycephaly, Trichomegaly, And Developmental Delay and no experimental evidence demonstrating its impact on protein function have been reported.
