The proteins that belong to this family either contain one or two AAA (ATPases Associated with diverse cellular Activities) domains. AAA family proteins often perform chaperone-like functions that assist in the assembly, operation, or disassembly of protein complexes. This alteration results from a C to G substitution at nucleotide position 3621, causing the aspartic acid (D) at amino acid position 1207 to be replaced by a glutamic acid (E).
