This sequence change replaces glutamine, which is neutral and polar, with proline, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 57 of the AQP2 protein (p.Gln57Pro). This variant is present in population databases (rs28931580, gnomAD 0.03%). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with autosomal recessive nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (PMID: 12050236). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 17842).
