This sequence change replaces serine, which is neutral and polar, with arginine, which is basic and polar, at codon 698 of the ALOX12B protein (p.Ser698Arg). This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with congenital ichthyosis (PMID: 33435499).
