The c.1825T>C (p.C609R) alteration is located in exon 30 (coding exon 30) of the COL6A1 gene. This alteration results from a T to C substitution at nucleotide position 1825, causing the cysteine (C) at amino acid position 609 to be replaced by an arginine (R). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear.

This sequence change replaces cysteine, which is neutral and slightly polar, with arginine, which is basic and polar, at codon 609 of the COL6A1 protein (p.Cys609Arg). This variant is present in population databases (rs763495943, gnomAD 0.004%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with COL6A1-related conditions. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 580155).
