ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 41880). This missense change has been observed in individuals with mitochondrial complex III deficiency (PMID: 23281071, 28275242; external communication). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. This variant is present in population databases (rs374661051, gnomAD 0.003%). This sequence change replaces arginine, which is basic and polar, with tryptophan, which is neutral and slightly polar, at codon 183 of the UQCRC2 protein (p.Arg183Trp). -
