The c.1150G>A (p.E384K) alteration is located in exon 10 (coding exon 10) of the SUCLG2 gene. This alteration results from a G to A substitution at nucleotide position 1150, causing the glutamic acid (E) at amino acid position 384 to be replaced by a lysine (K). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -

This sequence change replaces glutamic acid, which is acidic and polar, with lysine, which is basic and polar, at codon 384 of the SUCLG2 protein (p.Glu384Lys). This variant is present in population databases (rs199589191, gnomAD 0.05%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with SUCLG2-related conditions. An algorithm developed to predict the effect of missense changes on protein structure and function (PolyPhen-2) suggests that this variant is likely to be tolerated.
