Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. The c.30G>T (p.K10N) alteration is located in exon 1 (coding exon 1) of the TSPAN31 gene. This alteration results from a G to T substitution at nucleotide position 30, causing the lysine (K) at amino acid position 10 to be replaced by an asparagine (N). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
