Unlike the other human family member, which is localized to the nucleus, and is ubiquitously expressed; this enzyme is cytoplasmic, and is predominantly expressed in the brain. This alteration results from a G to A substitution at nucleotide position 500, causing the arginine (R) at amino acid position 167 to be replaced by a histidine (H).
