The c.991G>A (p.E331K) alteration is located in exon 6 (coding exon 6) of the SLC29A3 gene. This alteration results from a G to A substitution at nucleotide position 991, causing the glutamic acid (E) at amino acid position 331 to be replaced by a lysine (K). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -

This sequence change replaces glutamic acid, which is acidic and polar, with lysine, which is basic and polar, at codon 331 of the SLC29A3 protein (p.Glu331Lys). This variant is present in population databases (rs200004327, gnomAD 0.02%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with SLC29A3-related conditions.
