This particular protein mediates the repulsive effect of netrin-1 and is a vascular netrin receptor. This encoded protein is also in a group of proteins called dependence receptors (DpRs) which are involved in pro- and anti-apoptotic processes. The c.524G>T (p.R175L) alteration is located in exon 4 (coding exon 4) of the UNC5B gene. This alteration results from a G to T substitution at nucleotide position 524, causing the arginine (R) at amino acid position 175 to be replaced by a leucine (L). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
