Genes affected
PPP1R13B (HGNC:14950): (protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 13B) This gene encodes a member of the ASPP (apoptosis-stimulating protein of p53) family of p53 interacting proteins. The protein contains four ankyrin repeats and an SH3 domain involved in protein-protein interactions. ASPP proteins are required for the induction of apoptosis by p53-family proteins. They promote DNA binding and transactivation of p53-family proteins on the promoters of proapoptotic genes. Expression of this gene is regulated by the E2F transcription factor. Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitterclinical testingAmbry GeneticsAug 12, 2021The c.3198C>A (p.D1066E) alteration is located in exon 16 (coding exon 16) of the PPP1R13B gene. This alteration results from a C to A substitution at nucleotide position 3198, causing the aspartic acid (D) at amino acid position 1066 to be replaced by a glutamic acid (E). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
