Genes affected
SCNN1G (HGNC:10602): (sodium channel epithelial 1 subunit gamma) Nonvoltage-gated, amiloride-sensitive, sodium channels control fluid and electrolyte transport across epithelia in many organs. These channels are heteromeric complexes consisting of 3 subunits: alpha, beta, and gamma. This gene encodes the gamma subunit, and mutations in this gene have been associated with Liddle syndrome. The c.332G>A (p.R111H) alteration is located in exon 3 (coding exon 2) of the SCNN1G gene. This alteration results from a G to A substitution at nucleotide position 332, causing the arginine (R) at amino acid position 111 to be replaced by a histidine (H). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
