It is one of the several receptors for thyroid hormone, and has been shown to mediate the biological activities of thyroid hormone. The c.250A>C (p.N84H) alteration is located in exon 5 (coding exon 4) of the THRA gene. This alteration results from a A to C substitution at nucleotide position 250, causing the asparagine (N) at amino acid position 84 to be replaced by a histidine (H). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -
