The p.R688S variant (also known as c.2062C>A), located in coding exon 17 of the LZTR1 gene, results from a C to A substitution at nucleotide position 2062. The arginine at codon 688 is replaced by serine, an amino acid with dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is well conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be deleterious by in silico analysis. Based on the available evidence, the clinical significance of this variant remains unclear. -
