Genes affected
CSF2RB (HGNC:2436): (colony stimulating factor 2 receptor subunit beta) The protein encoded by this gene is the common beta chain of the high affinity receptor for IL-3, IL-5 and CSF. Defects in this gene have been reported to be associated with protein alveolar proteinosis (PAP). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitter | clinical testing | Johns Hopkins Genomics, Johns Hopkins University | Feb 08, 2019 | CSF2RB c.1267 has not been reported in ClinVar nor the literature, to our knowledge. This variant (rs370411972) is rare in large population datasets (gnomAD: 1/249208 total alleles; 0.0004013%; no homozygotes). Two bioinformatic tools queried predict that this substitution would be probably damaging, and the glycine residue at this position is evolutionarily conserved across all species assessed. Bioinformatic analysis predicts that this variant would not affect normal exon 10 splicing, although this has not been confirmed experimentally to our knowledge. The clinical significance of c.1267G>A is uncertain at this time. - |
