ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 1452866). This missense change has been observed in individuals with autosomal recessive hereditary spastic paraplegia (PMID: 27601211, 28124177). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. This variant is present in population databases (no rsID available, gnomAD 0.003%). This sequence change replaces arginine, which is basic and polar, with tryptophan, which is neutral and slightly polar, at codon 22 of the TFG protein (p.Arg22Trp). - |
