Genes affected
RAB3GAP2 (HGNC:17168): (RAB3 GTPase activating non-catalytic protein subunit 2) The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the RAB3 protein family, members of which are involved in regulated exocytosis of neurotransmitters and hormones. This protein forms the Rab3 GTPase-activating complex with RAB3GAP1, where it constitutes the regulatory subunit, whereas the latter functions as the catalytic subunit. This gene has the highest level of expression in the brain, consistent with it having a key role in neurodevelopment. Mutations in this gene are associated with Martsolf syndrome.[provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Martsolf syndrome;C3280214:Warburg micro syndrome 2 Uncertain:1
Uncertain significance, criteria provided, single submitter | clinical testing | Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp | May 21, 2022 | This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). In summary, the available evidence is currently insufficient to determine the role of this variant in disease. Therefore, it has been classified as a Variant of Uncertain Significance. Algorithms developed to predict the effect of missense changes on protein structure and function (SIFT, PolyPhen-2, Align-GVGD) all suggest that this variant is likely to be tolerated. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 436472). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with RAB3GAP2-related conditions. This sequence change replaces asparagine, which is neutral and polar, with aspartic acid, which is acidic and polar, at codon 344 of the RAB3GAP2 protein (p.Asn344Asp). - |
