Human interferon-gamma receptor is a heterodimer of IFNGR1 and IFNGR2. A genetic variation in IFNGR1 is associated with susceptibility to Helicobacter pylori infection. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with IFNGR1-related disease. This variant is not present in population databases (ExAC no frequency). This sequence change replaces isoleucine with phenylalanine at codon 143 of the IFNGR1 protein (p.Ile143Phe). The isoleucine residue is weakly conserved and there is a small physicochemical difference between isoleucine and phenylalanine. -
