This alteration results from a A to G substitution at nucleotide position 2294, causing the glutamic acid (E) at amino acid position 765 to be replaced by a glycine (G). Based on insufficient or conflicting evidence, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear. -

The BBS9 c.2294A>G variant is predicted to result in the amino acid substitution p.Glu765Gly. To our knowledge, this variant has not been reported in the literature. This variant is reported in 0.12% of alleles in individuals of African descent in gnomAD, which may be too common to be causative.
