It is thought that this protein may localize to the proximal region of the primary cilium, and may play a role in renal and cardiovascular development. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 474442). Algorithms developed to predict the effect of missense changes on protein structure and function (SIFT, PolyPhen-2, Align-GVGD) all suggest that this variant is likely to be tolerated. Algorithms developed to predict the effect of sequence changes on RNA splicing suggest that this variant may create or strengthen a splice site.
