The encoded protein may play a role in phospholipid remodelling, arachidonic acid release, leukotriene and prostaglandin synthesis, fas-mediated apoptosis, and transmembrane ion flux in glucose-stimulated B-cells. This variant is present in population databases (rs372291638, ExAC 0.003%). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with infantile neuroaxonal dystrophy (PMID: 26829737). ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 159776). Algorithms developed to predict the effect of missense changes on protein structure and function are either unavailable or do not agree on the potential impact of this missense change (SIFT: "Tolerated"; PolyPhen-2: "Probably Damaging"; Align-GVGD: "Class C0").
