This variant is present in population databases (rs398123503, gnomAD 0.01%). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with Maple syrup urine disease (PMID: 10745006, 19715473, 21844576). In at least one individual the data is consistent with being in trans (on the opposite chromosome) from a pathogenic variant. This variant is also known as T166M.
